Hello!! We are honored to be partnering with our good friends over at Lawn Fawn to release this adorable stamp set, Big Thanks, as part of our ongoing 45th Anniversary celebration! Big Thanks is available exclusively at Hero Arts and coordinating dies are also available!
I combined some of my favorite Lawn Fawn and Hero Arts sets with Big Thanks to create a pivot pop-up card!
You could easily just create the front panel of my card but I love the extra surprise inside! 😉
I have a video for today’s card that you can watch below or over at my YouTube channel! And don’t forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel for your chance to win a $100 gift card to the crafty shop of your choice!
To start I blended a panel of strathmore bristol cardstock with mustard seed, ripe persimmon, and festive berries distress oxide ink. I masked off about an inch from the bottom of the panel and blended black soot distress oxide ink over the bottom. Then I die-cut the Safari Sunset with bristol cardstock and blended scattered straw distress oxide ink over the edges. Next I die-cut the rhino pair from Big Thanks and the Thorn Tree and Grass from Hero Arts with black cardstock. I blended a little unicorn white pigment ink on the tops of the dies and then added a little mustard seed distress oxide ink to create the look of sunlight on the silhouettes.
I stamped the sentiment from Big Thanks onto the grass with versamark and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder. Then I adhered the sunset, tree and rhino silhouettes with regular adhesive and used foam mounting tape for the grass. You could, of course, finish the card here but I decided to add a little surprise inside!
I create a more muted panel inside by blending scattered straw, dried marigold, and abandoned coral distress oxide ink onto the inside of a top-folding A2 card base. I also used scattered straw and dried marigold on the pivot panels. I adhered an A2 panel of chestnut cardstock onto the bottom of the card base and also die-cut the hills from the same cardstock to create my ground.
I stamped critters from Big Thanks and Critters on the Savanna with intens-ified copic-friendly black ink and colored them with copic markers before die-cutting them with the coordinating dies. I assembled my pivot mechanism and then I added the critters to my scene, including a little acetate strip for one of my birds. I also stamped a few birds from the Hero Arts Wild About You set onto the top panel and added the rest of the sentiment from Big Thanks. To finish the card I added a few accents with a white gel pen!
And that’s it! I hope you enjoyed my little safari adventure!
To celebrate the release we have three great prizes! One random commenter will win the Big Thanks stamp and die sets, one will win a $25 gift card to Hero Arts and one will win a $25 gift card to Lawn Fawn!! WOW this card is truly spectacular. I thought the front was nice, but muted, and then when I scrolled down and saw the pop-out I was blown away. I will be checking out your other creations!
