I shared this card on the Hero Arts blog this weekend:
And today I’m sharing a slimline card featuring that fun car!
To start I stamped the car with versamark and heat-embossed it with silver embossing powder before coloring it with copics. Then I decided to fussy cut it so there’d be no white edges in my scene! I also stamped a bunch of presents and colored them in shades of pink and aqua and fussy cut them as well!
Next I masked off the bottom of a 3.75″ by 7.5″ panel of strathmore bristol cardstock and blended hickory smoke and black soot distress oxide ink to create a road. Then I masked the road and blended faded jeans, blueprint sketch, chipped sapphire, and black soot distress oxide inks to create my sky. I splattered the sky with water and white acrylic paint and let it dry completely. Then I stamped the sentiment and snowflakes from the kit and heat-embossed them with white embossing powder. Next I took a post-it note and cut a deep v. I used that to create a mask on my sky and blended mustard seed distress oxide ink onto the panel to create a headlight “beam.” Finally I adhered my car and presents with foam mounting tape and added a few accents with a white gel pen to finish the card!
And that’s it!
To celebrate the release Hero Arts is giving away a $50 gift card as a prize to one blog reader selected from the comments across all of the blogs in the hop so make sure you leave a comment at each hop stop for the most chances to win! Please comment before 11:59PM EST on Sunday, October 13th! You should have arrived from Janette and Julee is your next stop!
Thanks so much for visiting and enjoy the hop!!
