Good afternoon! Today is the release day for the Hero Arts October 2016 My Monthly Hero and I am so honored and excited to be celebrating the release with the Hero Arts Creative team and other special guests! You should have arrived from Jennifer McGuire’s blog but if not, you can head to the Hero Arts Blog to start at the beginning! The new kit is now available for purchase at Hero Arts and once they’re sold out, they’re gone for good so make sure to head over and shop soon! I think this kit might be my very favorite!!
If you’ve visited my blog before you know that shaker cards are one of my most favorite things in the world…so a whole kit practically designed for shaker cards?! Love at first sight for sure! So here’s what you get!
The kit contains:
- A 4″x6″ clear stamp set
- Dies for creating a snowglobe, snowdrifts and other background elements
- Seven coordinating Frame Cuts dies to match the stamp set
- Three pigment ink cubes in White, Silver and Baby Blue
- Eight White Cards and Envelopes
- Polar White Flower Soft
- Buttons Galore Shaker Mix
- Acetate Sheets in 4″x4.5″ (7) and 4″x6″ (1) for creating a shaker card
- Light Blue Gemstones
Don’t forget to check out the bottom of my post for details on how to win a kit! I focused on the two add-on sets, Holiday Cheer and Winter Time Fun, and here’s what I created!
I loved the trees in the Holiday Cheer set and the quirky sentiment font so I paired them together for a CAS card. I used Raspberry Jam, Fresh Peach, and Soft Canteloupe ink for the trees and then heat-embossed the sentiment with Platinum ink. I scored the sides of the panel for a little texture and adhered it to a card base. I made a similar card using Ocean, Grape Juice, and Navy ink.
My last card uses the adorable Winter Time Fun set to create a snowy winter scene!
I love foxes and that fox is so cute!! I stamped him with copic-friendly ink, colored him with copic markers, and then used the coordinating dies to cut him out. I tore white cardstock to create snowy banks and heat-embossed my sentiment with silver embossing powder. Next I blended shaded lilac, picked raspberry, and salty ocean distress ink onto a piece of watercolor paper and heat set it. I prepped it with a powder tool and then stamped the snowfall stamp all over the background with versamark and then heat-embossed it with diamond white embossing powder. The snowfall stamp is only about the size of a quarter but you can turn it in different directions and use it to fill an entire background. I adhered the first snowbank with regular adhesive and then used foam mounting tape for my second snowbank for a little dimension.
I’m kind of shocked that I didn’t make a shaker card…but I’m sure there will be one coming soon! There is so much versatility in this kit and the add-ons. You could easily make all of your holiday cards with just these sets! Love Love LOVE! I highly recommend purchasing a kit…and I suspect they will sell out FAST! 😉
To celebrate the release Hero Arts is giving away one kit as a prize to one blog reader selected from the comments across all of the blogs in the hop so make sure you leave a comment at each hop stop for the most chances to win! Your first (and second) card were very simple but striking, I think, because of the color combinations you used. The third card was ADORABLE! That little fox is cute, but the best part was the sky! I LOVE the color combination you used and also the stamping of snow and embossing it. Very pretty. Thanks for sharing.
