Good morning! We are honored to be partnering with our good friends over at Pinkfresh Studios to release this amazingly gorgeous stamp set, You Make a Difference, as part of our ongoing 45th Anniversary celebration!
Here’s what I created using You Make a Difference:
I love the softness of the floral image and decided to to create a somewhat impressionistic card using soft blending and soft edges with a pop of sparkly gold. To start I placed the stamp in my MISTI and stamped it with a no-line ink onto strathmore bristol cardstock. I left the stamp on my MISTI lid and removed the cardstock. First I started by blending worn lipstick distress oxide ink around the edges of the stamp fading to light pink and white in the center.
Then I took tiny pointed cotton swabs, dipped them in various colors of distress oxide ink and used the tips to apply color to the flowers in light circular motions. I focused more of the color on the centers of the flowers and faded out to the edges. The edges aren’t perfect but that’s not what I was aiming for…I wanted that soft, unfocused look that just hints at the idea of flowers and foliage! Once I was happy with the color application I placed the panel back in my MISTI and restamped it with versamark before heat-embossed it with gold tinsel embossing powder. I also stamped the sentiment in the center with versamark and heat-embossed that with gold embossing powder to make the smaller words a little easier to read. Finally I trimmed the panel down, adhered it to a white card base, and finished the card with a few metallic gold sequins!
And that’s it!
To celebrate the release we have three great prizes! One random commenter will win the You Make a Difference stamp set, one will win a $25 gift card to Hero Arts and one will win a $25 gift card to Pinkfresh Studios!!
