Good morning! I’m here with a quick card to share featuring one of my all-time favorite floral stamps, Mondo Hydrangea from Ellen Hutson! I decided to share this card today because Ellen is having a 20% sale on all in-stock products for Mother’s Day and this stamp is still in stock (as of the writing of this post)! When shopping, use the code ‘momsday16’ for 20% off! I got my order in yesterday morning and received shipping notification the same day…I can’t wait to share what I picked up! 😉 And as always, I’ve used my affiliate link in the links I’m sharing and I greatly appreciate those of you who use my link for your shopping! If you don’t know already, affiliate links are used at absolutely no cost to you but I do receive a small commission when you click on my links and make a purchase. So thank you thank you THANK YOU for your support! 😉 Anyway, onto my card!
I so wish the sparkle and shimmer of this card was more obvious in the photo but trust me, it’s gorgeous up close!! I started by stamping the Mondo Hydrangea in versamark and embossing it with white embossing powder. Then I used my new favorite trio: Picked Raspberry, Abandoned Coral, and Festive Berries distress ink to watercolor the petals. I love the way those three colors blend together! I let that dry completely and then added a soft gold shimmer with my Finetec palette (the Finetec palette seems to be hard to find these days but the colors in the Kuretake Gansai gold palette are EXACTLY the same!). I used the Stardust Gold equivalent! To keep the lines soft, I wet my background and then slowly added the paint around the outline of the hydrangea with a wet brush, cleaned my brush, and then pulled the gold shimmer down towards the bottom of the card. I let that dry and then added the same gold shimmer to my flower petals. Finally I added flicks of more concentrated gold across my card panel.
I stamped the sentiment from Mondo Magnolia onto vellum and heat-embossed it with gold tinsel embossing powder. I tore the vellum by hand to get a rougher, more natural look. Then I used a tiny bit of vellum adhesive to adhere the vellum to the card panel. I folded the right side of the vellum around the card panel and used strong adhesive to make sure it was nice and secure. Finally I adhered the card panel to a gold shimmer cardstock base and added a sprinkling of medallion gold sequins from The Ton!
Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have some fun weekend plans and that you can also get in some crafty shopping!! 😉 Besides the sale at Ellen Hutson, there’s also a 20% sale at Butterfly Reflections Ink, and a 10% off sale at Organize More (with the code ‘ilovemom’)! After about 10 days of rain we’re supposed to get one day of sun today so I’m heading out to a local garden fair to stock up on plants and veggies for the season! 🙂 Have a fabulous day!

This is a very beautiful card. I love the bright colors of the hydrangea and the gold sentiment with the gold shimmer cardstock base. You’re so right about the distress inks you used to color work so well together. Great job. Happy weekend.
