Good morning! Today I’m sharing two cards I created for the May 2018 release for Hello Bluebird Stamps! Hello Bluebird is a relatively new company but they’ve very quickly established themselves as a leader in absolutely adorable clear stamps and dies! I am proud to be a member of the inaugural design team and I highly recommend that you check out their line of stamps and dies! My first card uses the cute Hippos on Holiday!
I started by stamping all the images from the Hippos on Holiday set onto white cardstock with copic-friendly intense black ink. Then I colored them with copics and used my ScanNCut to cut them out. The dies weren’t available in time when I created my card but they’re available now! I added white gel pen accents to some of the images and then stamped the sentiment on black cardstock and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder. I trimmed the sentiment into a fishtail banner and set it aside with the colored images.
Next I masked off the bottom and top of my card and blended salty ocean and mermaid lagoon distress oxide inks onto the panel to create an ocean. I spritzed the ocean with water and blotted off the excess droplets. Then I masked off the ocean and blended worn lipstick and abandoned coral distress oxides to create my sunset. I added a little bit of squeezed lemonade distress oxide ink onto the horizon with a dauber to create a sun. Then I blended antique linen and gathered twigs distress oxide ink onto the bottom of my card panel. I added accents to the sand with copic markers and then adhered the images using a mixture of regular ATG adhesive and foam mounting tape. Finally I added the sentiment with foam mounting tape and adhered the panel to a white card base.
My second card uses the equally adorable Puddle Play stamp set! I started by stamping the ellie, mouse, and umbrella onto white cardstock with copic-friendly ink and coloring them with copics before cutting them out with my ScanNCut (coordinating dies are now available). I added accents with a white gel pen and a little spectrum noir clear sparkle and tonic crystal glaze to the umbrella. I stamped the sentiment from Puddle Play onto black cardstock and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder before trimming it down to a thin label.
While the crystal glaze was drying I worked on my background. First I masked off the top 3/4s of my card panel and blended mowed lawn and lucky clover distress ink onto the bottom 1/4 of the card panel. Then I used a cloud stencil to blend salty ocean and blueprint sketch distress ink to create a sky. I added grass using several green copic markers. Then I added a little liquid glue using the a dauber and sprinkled chunky and fine glitter along the lighter blue areas of the sky. Finally I adhered my critters and sentiment with foam mounting tape!

This is the first time I’ve heard about Hello Bluebird. It really takes a leap of faith to start a new company in such a crowded industry. I love your Hippos on Holiday card.
