Good morning! Today I’m back to share a few more cards using the July release from Hello Bluebird! All of the products are now available for purchase here! First up is another card using Otter Friends because I just can’t get enough of these adorable otters!!
To start I stamped the otter and fish with barely beige ink and then practiced my no-line coloring with copic markers. I added some accents with a white gel pen and then die-cut them with the coordinating dies. Then I did a little distress ink smooshing. First I pressed shabby shutters and evergreen bough distress ink to a piece of acetate, spritzed it with water, and then pressed it to a piece of watercolor paper. I set that aside to dry and cleaned off the piece of acetate. Next I pressed chipped sapphire, mermaid lagoon, and peacock feathers distress ink onto the acetate and pressed it to another piece of watercolor paper. I set that aside to dry and then spritzed both panels with water and blotted off the excess.
Once the green panel was totally dry I die-cut it using the older Tropical Foliage dies…I thought it kinda resembled kelp! 😉 Then I stamped the sentiment on the background with versamark and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder. I applied a thin line of liquid adhesive to the step of the greenery and adhered it to the background. Once it was totally dry I slightly bent up the leaves so give the card a little dimension. Then I adhered my fish with regular adhesive and my otter with foam mounting tape to finish the card. I love the organic, free flowing look of the distress ink smooshed “water.”
My second card focuses on the adorable Moose and Friends!
I stamped the critters, balloons, cupcake, and stump with copic-friendly ink and then colored them with copic markers before die-cutting them with the coordinating dies. I added a few accents with a white gel pen and a little bit of spectrum noir clear sparkle to the balloons and cupcake. I also added a dot of snow marker to the bunny’s tail and heated it to create the puffy look! Then I blended my sky background with salty ocean, shaded lilac, and picked raspberry distress ink and the grass with shabby shutters and peeled paint distress ink. I set the ink with my heat gun and then spritzed both panels with water and blotted off the excess. I used the Pond Builder set to die-cut my grass and adhered it to my sky background.
Next I started adding my critters with a mixture of regular adhesive and foam mounting tape. I added black thread behind each balloon and wrapped them around the moose’s antlers as if he was holding them for the bunny. I stamped the sentiment onto black cardstock, heat-embossed it with white embossing powder, and trimmed it to a fishtail banner. I attached the banner to one of the balloon strings and adhered the balloons with foam mounting tape. Finally I added a layer of nuvo crystal glaze to each balloon and sprinkled prisma and chunky glitter for a little extra sparkle!
I hope you’ll check out the new release and let me know your favorites! 🙂 Thanks for stopping by and have an amazing day!
