Good morning! Today I’m excited to be a stop on the hop for the 5th Anniversary Release from Honey Bee Stamps! I decided to play with the fun new Barn Scene Builder dies to create my happy scene!
To start I die-cut all the elements of the barn using colored cardstocks. Then I added a little shading by blending distress oxide inks over the edges! I used Fired Brick, Aged Mahogany, and Ground Espresso on the barn; Pumice Stone on the white trim; Black Soot on the Windmill (along with a matte silver cardstock for the blades); Tea Dye, Scattered Straw, and Mustard Seed on the bales of hay; and Frayed Burlap on the fence. Then I adhered the barn together using a mix of regular adhesive and foam mounting tape and tied a little twine around each bale of hay.
Then I created my background by blending Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn distress oxide ink onto the bottom of a piece of strathmore bristol cardstock. Next I placed the cloud stencil from the Outdoor Scene Builder stencil set on my panel and blended the cloudy sky using Tumbled Glass, Broken China, and Salty Ocean distress oxide inks. I let the ink dry and then built my scene by adding all the different die-cut elements with a mixture of regular adhesive and foam mounting tape. Finally I added the sentiment ad the copic-colored chicks from Way to Goat to finish the card and my cheerful scene!
I hope this gives you some inspiration for the new unbeelievable release and make sure to check out the full Anniversary release, you’re going to love it!!
To celebrate the release Honey Bee Stamps is giving away a $25 gift card each day as a prize to one blog reader selected from the comments across all of the blogs in the hop so make sure you leave a comment at each hop stop for the most chances to win! Very cute. We don’t have a lot of farmhouses here in Sydney Australia, but I am sure this will find a use if I had it. SO much to love about the windows and the wee animals
