You may have caught my video on the Honeybee Stamps blog this weekend as a little sneak peek but if not, today I’m sharing a Gnome for the Holidays card and video! 🙂
You can watch the video below or over at my YouTube channel!
I started by blending stormy sky, faded jeans, chipped sapphire, and black soot distress oxide ink onto a panel of strathmore bristol cardstock. I added a few splatters of water and then set it aside to dry. Next I stamped the sentiment and images from Gnome for the Holidays with versafine and heat-embossed them with clear embossing powder. I colored them with copic markers and then die-cut them with the coordinating dies.
To create my scene I die-cut the blended panel from the Snow Day cover plate die. Then I tore a panel of A2 cardstock to create a snowy ground. The ripped edge creates a fun texture. I adhered the blended panel over a piece of white cardstock to create my snowy sky and then I adhered the ground. Next I die-cut two trees from the Stacking Pines with green and kraft cardstock and added a little blending with bundled sage and pine needles distress oxide ink. I also coated them liberally with spectrum noir clear sparkle.
Then I applied nuvo crystal glaze to the tops of my trees and coated them with white puff embossing powder. When you heat the glaze and powder it creates this amazing lifted texture. I adhered all the elements to my scene with a mix of regular adhesive and foam mounting tape. Then I added more crystal glaze to the treetops, the ground, and my gnome. This time I sprinkled the glaze with chunky and prisma glitter. I also added accents with a white gel pen and finished my card by adding a fluffy white pom pom to my gnome’s hat! I love the mixture of textures on this card from the soft pom pom to the rough glitter and embossing powder and all the different touches of sparkle really make for an interesting card!
And that’s it! Head over to check out the rest of the fantastic Season to Sparkle release from Honeybee Stamps and let me know your favorites!
