Good morning! Today I’m thrilled to be hopping along with some crafty friends to celebrate the new release from Heffy Doodle! We have lots of crafty inspiration and a fun giveaway so be sure to check out the hop info at the bottom of this post!
I have a video for my first card and you can watch the video below or over at my YouTube channel!
IF YOU CANNOT VIEW THE VIDEO PLEASE CLICK HERE!
To start I stamped the adorable koalas from Koality Hugs and colored them with copics before die-cutting them with the coordinating dies. I placed the Simple Sunburst stencil over a panel of light yellow cardstock and blended mustard seed and squeezed lemonade distress oxide ink over the stencil. Then I set the ink with my heat gun. Next I rotated the stencil slightly so that a little bit of the ink blended area was exposed and taped it in place. Then I applied a thin layer of glitter paste over the stencil and let it dry completely!
While the panel was drying I die-cut the Hang In There words from black glitter cardstock and the outline from vellum. I trimmed the back arm from one of the stamped koalas and tucked it snugly around the sentiment. I also stamped a sentiment from Koality Hugs with versafine onto vellum and heat-embossed it with black embossing powder. I trimmed that down to a thin layer. Once the stenciled panel was totally dry I adhered it to an A2 card base and added the Hang In There sentiment with foam mounting tape. I used vellum adhesive for the smaller sentiment and foam mounting tape for the koala on the tree. Finally I added a little spectrum noir clear sparkle and white gel pen accents to finish the card!
For my second card I started by die-cutting the Go Wild Frame from distress heavystock cardstock. Then I blended cracked pistachio, peacock feathers, and chipped sapphire distress oxide ink onto the panel. Next I used the same Simple Sunburst stencil and blended mustard seed distress oxide ink over the stencil on a panel of darker yellow cardstock. I set both panels aside to dry while I stamped and colored the images from Two by Two Safari Animals.
Once the panels were dry I stamped part of the sentiment from Wild at Heart Sentiments onto the stenciled panel and heat-embossed it with black embossing powder. I die-cut the Go Wild sentiment from the same combination of black glitter cardstock and vellum. I adhered the Go Wild panel to my stenciled background and tucked my sentiment and animals in and around the frame with a mix of foam mounting tape and regular adhesive. I finished the card with a little spectrum noir clear sparkle and white gel pen accents!
And that’s it for me! Keep hopping for lots of crafty inspiration!
