Good morning! Today I’m thrilled to be hopping along with some crafty friends to celebrate the new release from Heffy Doodle! We have lots of crafty inspiration and a fun giveaway so be sure to check out the hop at the bottom of this post!
Today I used the fun Heart Pencil dies and a little borrowing of other sentiments to create a clean and simple rainbow card!
I started by die-cutting the pencils with white cardstock and coloring them with copic markers. I used three markers for each color and E30, E31, and E34 for the wood grain. These are the colors I used:
- Pink – RV13, RV14, RV25
- Red – R35, R37, R39
- Orange – Y32, Y35, Y38
- Yellow – Y11, Y13, Y15
- Green – G02, G03, G05
- Teal – BG11, BG13, BG15
- Blue – B02, B05, B06
- Indigo – BV02, BV13, BV04
- Violet – V12, V15, V17
Once I was done coloring I die-cut the outline from an A2 panel of white cardstock and inlaid all the pieces. Then I stamped part of the sentiment from Highland Honeys onto black cardstock with versamark and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder. I die-cut the rainbow word from the Rainbow Builder die set and trimmed off the s. I die-cut it twice from black cardstock and once from black sapphire glitter cardstock and adhered them together to create a thick chipboard-like sentiment. I added it with liquid adhesive and the label sentiment with foam mounting tape. Finally I added a little nuvo crystal glaze to the pencil tips to finish the card with a little extra shine!
And that’s it for me! Keep hopping for lots of crafty inspiration!
