Good morning! I am so excited to be hopping along with some crafty friends to celebrate the newest release from Heffy Doodle! I fell in love with the adorable Rescue Dogs stamp set and combined it with Superdudes for a fun, *blam*, *pow*, *zap* thank you card! (My husband is a comic book fan so I know the lingo…) 😉
Archimedes came to our house as a foster sheltie on March 8th, 2009 and, of course, never left! Last Friday we celebrated his 10th anniversary as a member of our family! Archimedes asked me for help creating a card for my husband and these sets were perfect for my superhero-loving, dog-crazy husband!
To start I blended black soot, chipped sapphire, blueprint sketch, salty ocean, and tumbled glass distress oxide ink onto a piece of strathmore bristol cardstock. I splattered it with water and white gouache paint and let it dry to create a starry night sky. Once it was dry I placed the Zapp Attack stencil over the background and blended white pigment ink across the stencil. I lifted the stencil and let that dry. Once it was dry I used the clever Cityscape stencil to create my skyline. You can cut the stencil apart and use the outline of the building or the negative space. I used the negative space and placed it over my panel. Then I blended black soot distress oxide ink to create my buildings. Once that was dry I placed the window stencil (from the same Cityscape stencil) over the buildings and blended mustard seed distress oxide ink onto the panel. I let that dry while I worked on the rest of the card.
Next I stamped the pup from Rescue Dogs and the boy from Superdudes onto white cardstock with versafine and heat-embossed them with clear embossing powder. I die-cut them with the coordinating dies and added a few accents with a white gel pen. I deliberately colored the pup to look like a tri-color sheltie and the boy to look like my husband! I stamped the sentiment onto red cardstock with versamark and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder before trimming it down to a thin label. Then I trimmed the background panel down and adhered it to a white card base. Finally I added the pup, boy, and sentiment with foam mounting tape for a little extra dimension!
The randomly chosen winner who leaves a comment on each stop on the hop will receive a £50 voucher to the Heffy Doodle store. The winner will be announced on Monday, March 18, 2019 on the Heffy Doodle Blog. You should have arrived from Ashlea and your next stop on the hop is the Angelica!! You can also start from the beginning of the hop on the Heffy Doodle blog! Thanks for stopping by, have an amazing Monday, and enjoy the hop!

Adorable! (Both your card and your sheltie.) I really like the look of the white pigment ink over the sky; that’s a nice way to create the lightning effect while still keeping the scene. What a great card. Thanks for sharing!
