I am totally in love with the Hero Arts ombre ink pads and I cannot wait until the new colors are released in a few weeks! I was inspired to make time to play around with them after seeing Jennifer McGuire’s video last week and I ended up making more and more backgrounds… 😉
I won’t go into too much detail but the background stamp I used is the Penny Black Allover Pattern cling stamp. The sentiments are from the Splendid and Make a Wish Mama Elephant stamp sets and were stamped in versafine onyx black and heat-embossed with clear embossing powder. I die-cut the banners from the My Favorite Things Stitched Jumbo Fishtail Banner STAX and layered some of them with black cardstock. The card bases are Simon Says Stamp black and slate grey cardstock.
I experimented with using the ombre pads in vertical and horizontal orientation and changing the order of the colors for a mirrored look or rainbow effect. With the addition of the new ink pads I’m going to need a stamp that’s at least 12″ tall in order to fit all the colors in! 🙂 Thanks for visiting!
Here are photos of the individual cards:
I’m entering these cards into the CASology Challenge Week 143: Ombre.
