Good morning! Earlier this month I shared a set of cards I created with Ken Oliver Colorbursts and stencils! While I was making those cards I actually created two more that I’d like to share today!
My first card is a square card using the Abstract Petals stencil from My Favorite Things and Alizarin Crimson, Ultramarine Blue, and Violet Colorburst Powders! I taped the stencil over a piece of watercolor paper and sprinkled each of the powders over the stencil before spritzing it with water. I varied the amount of water to get that smooth look on some designs and the grainy look on other parts of the design. Once it dried I trimmed it town to a square and added the sentiment on a banner from Hero Arts. To finish the card I mounted it on a dark blue cardbase and added a couple silver enamel dots.
For my second card I used the StencilGirl Cluster of Lilies mask and adhered the edges of it over a piece of watercolor paper. Then I sprinkled Alizarin Crimson, Lemon Yellow, and Orange Colorburst Powders over the stencil and spritzed it with water. I used less water on this design because I didn’t want the colors to blend too much. Once it was dry I removed the stencil, trimmed down the watercolor paper, and added a strip of black cardstock to the left edge. I die-cut the word ‘hello’ from black cardstock and stamped the rest of the sentiment on vellum. I tore the strips of vellum for a rougher look and adhered them to the cardbase with vellum tape. To finish the card I added the die-cut word and a few black gemstones for extra sparkle.
Thanks so much for stopping by today and have a great day!
