Good morning!! I don’t know about you but I’m pretty sure today is going to be a great day because the new Lawn Fawn release is NOW AVAILABLE!! I’ve been dying to get my hands on all those great products since they started sneaking them last month! Kelly-Marie was kind enough to send a couple goodies to play with in advance of the release and I, of course, couldn’t resist trying out that fun Magic Iris interactive die set!
I have a video for today’s card that you can watch below or over at my Youtube channel! I’m still really hoping to get my subscriber count up over on Youtube so I’d greatly appreciate if you’d consider subscribing!! 😉
To be very honest it’s probably easiest to watch the video for the instructions on how to create the Magic Iris part of the interactive card but I’ll give you a brief run down of the rest of it!
I created the magic iris using mostly dark grey cardstock to create the look of a porthole on a submarine. Once I created the magic iris part I adhered it to a piece of patterned paper from the new Hello Sunshine cut to 4″ by 5.25″. The patterned paper is then attached to a white card base! 🙂
I stamped a small scene onto a round stitched circle (die-cut from the Magic Iris set) using stamps from You Are Sublime. I colored them with copic markers and then adhered the circle inside the open Magic Iris. I stamped a sentiment from You Are Sublime, trimmed it down to a thin fishtail banner, and adhered it to the bottom of the card.
Next I hole-punched circles from grey cardstock and adhered them around the grey circle to resemble the look of a porthole. I added accents to the scene with a white gel pen and then finished the card by adding crystal glaze to each of the circles around the porthole.
And that’s it! Again the new release is now available at Lawn Fawn! If you didn’t preorder/reserve through another shop I’d recommend ordering directly through Lawn Fawn for the fastest shipping! 😉 Thanks so much for stopping by today and happy shopping!!
