Good morning!! It’s time for a new Lawn Fawnatics challenge and we’re challenging you to try a new technique! I was lucky enough to receive the new Lawn Fawn Pivot Pop-Up die from Kelly Marie a few weeks ago and I decided to make my first pivot pop-up card! **Spoiler alert…I LOVED it…the Lawn Fawn release goes live in two days and you can get your hands on one, too!! ;)**
At first glance my card is colorful but pretty simple in design…
But then you open it up…
…and I might have gone a little crazy… 😉
It all started Friday night when I decided that I wanted to create an underwater scene…so I stamped a bunch of images from Mermaid For You, Fintastic Friends, and Life is Good and then colored them with copics.
Next I blended distress inks onto a 4.25″ by 11″ panel of bristol smooth cardstock to create the inside of my card. I started with the sky and moving down I blended shaded lilac, picked raspberry, salty ocean, peacock feathers, more salty ocean, mermaid lagoon, blueprint sketch, chipped sapphire, and a touch of black soot. I spritzed it a few times with water and then blotted it dry. I took a second 4.25″ by 5.5″ panel and blended it with peacock feathers, salty ocean, blueprint sketch, and chipped sapphire. I spritzed it with water and set them both aside to dry. I also blended a panel with tea dye and spritzed it with water and gold mica spray to create the ocean floor and the beach!
Once everything was dry I started assembling the card following Kelly Marie’s fabulous video tutorial for the Pivot Pop-Up die! I used the stitched hillside dies and cloud borders to ground my scene and then started adding all the colored images!
Finally I adhered the other ink blended panel to the front of the card and added a few fish and the sentiment. I love that the simpleness of the front panel makes the inside even more of a surprise! 😉
And now it’s your turn! I can’t wait to see what new techniques you try! You can link up your entries on the Lawn Fawnatics blog and I can’t wait to see what you’ll create! Thanks so much for visiting and have an amazing week!
