Good morning!! It’s time for a new Lawn Fawnatics challenge and we’re challenging you to create cards for guys!! My card might not seem overly masculine but it’s perfect for my band director husband! 😉
The new Critter Concert set is perfect for a musical family like mine! And I just loved that little conducting bird! I started by stamping the various images from the stamp set with intense black ink and then colored them with copic markers before die-cutting them with the coordinating dies. I added a few accents with a white gel pen and set them aside while I worked on the background of the card.
I took a piece of black cardstock and tucked it inside my MISTI. Then I lined up the “Happy” sentiment along the top of the cardstock and stamped it with versamark. I heat-embossed it with white embossing powder and then placed it back inside the MISTI. I moved the panel up slightly then stamped and heat-embossed again. I repeated that until the sentiment was stamped down the entire panel. I also added a few music notes and heat-embossed them. I trimmed that panel down to 4″ by 5.25″ and adhered it to a white card base. On the inside of the card I stamped the sentiment “Happy Birthday To You” from the Critter Concert set. I stamped the rest of the sentiment onto white cardstock with versafine and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder. I trimmed that down and adhered it to the front of the card with foam mounting tape. Then I added my bird, his music stand, baton, and additional music notes with foam mounting tape. To finish the card I added a little nuvo crystal glaze to his bowtie!
