Good morning!! It’s time for a new Lawn Fawnatics challenge and we’re challenging you to create a scene of your favorite place!! For me it was a no brainer, I LOVE the ocean! And of course I’d love to be a mermaid with a sparkly seahorse bestie! Who wouldn’t!? 😉
To start I stamped my mermaid, star, and seahorse from Mermaid for You onto white cardstock with copic-friendly ink and colored them with copics before die-cutting them with the coordinating dies.
To create my background I pressed chipped sapphire, mermaid lagoon, salty ocean, and peacock feathers distress ink onto an acrylic block and then spritzed it with water. I carefully turned the block over and pressed it to a piece of watercolor paper. I held it in place for about 20 seconds to give the ink plenty of time to soak into the paper. Then I removed the block and blotted off the excess ink. Next I spritzed it with water and then blotted off the drops to create a little bit of texture in the background.
Finally I assembled my card! I adhered the seahorse and sentiment with foam mounting tape and then used an action wobbler for my mermaid. Then I adhered a wave of clear and iridescent sequins across the panel for a little extra sparkle!
And now it’s your turn! I can’t wait to see your favorite places! You can link up your entries on the Lawn Fawnatics blog! Thanks so much for visiting and have an amazing day!
