Good morning! It’s time for a new Lawn Fawnatics challenge and it is sure to be a popular one!!
As you probably know already I just LOVE interactive cards so I was super excited for this challenge! And here’s what I created!
I always feel like our cat has a very active imagination…whether it’s “fighting” monsters while she bats around a tiny hairball or “exploring” outer space when she’s rolling around in a blanket she always seems to be imagining some epic adventure! So I decided to give my card kitty the same kind of grand adventure. it might look like she’s just observing a happy little goldfish…but really she’s diving into the deep ocean! 😉
To start I created a Center Picture Window card and on the front panel I adhered a piece of yellow patterned paper die-cut with a stitched rectangle and stamped the sentiment from Fintastic Friends with versafine and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then I added the images from Keep on Swimming that I colored during the last coloring challenge. I kept it pretty simple on the front to hide the surprise inside!
On the inside I started by blending peacock feathers, salty ocean, and blueprint sketch distress oxide inks onto the inner panel. I splattered that with water and blotted off the excess. I also added some stitched hills blended with antique linen and tea dye distress oxide ink and splattered with gathered twigs and tea dye oxide inks. Then I masked off a long piece of scrap cardstock, blended twisted citron and mowed lawn on the top and blended antique linen and tea dye on the bottom. I used the masking line as a guide and die-cut it with the Bayou Backdrop die three times. I trimmed two pieces down to fit on each inner panel. Then I die-cut the Center Picture Window die from the last backdrop and folded it carefully along the scores lines before adhering the bottom scored edge to my card. It does not attach along the top the way it traditionally would but the bottom is strong enough to support the few wispy pieces of seaweed! 😉
Next I built my scene adding stamped images from Keep on Swimming and the anchor from Smooth Sailing. For a little textural twist I also added a piece of twine to the anchor and glued it to the background panel. I stamped a sentiment from Keep on Swimming onto black cardstock, trimmed it down to a thin label and adhered it to the inside of the card. Finally I tucked a few images around and behind the seaweed to give it even more depth and dimension!
And now it’s your turn! I can’t wait to see what you create!! You can link up your entries on the Lawn Fawnatics blog! Thanks so much for visiting and have a fabulous day!
