Good morning! It’s time for a new Lawn Fawnatics challenge and we have a great challenge! I can’t wait to see how you will interpret the challenge!! 🙂
I’ve been inspired by all the gorgeous cards Chari has recently created with quotes and sayings and that’s what I decided to do today. I’ve always loved Cleo Wade and this particular quote of hers has really stuck with me these days. So here’s what I created!
Be Kind. It shakes the world. That really does say it all, doesn’t it? 🙂 So to start I created a galaxy background. I blended Mustard Seed, Seedless Preserves, and Cracked Pistachio distress oxide ink onto a panel of strathmore bristol smooth cardstock in random splotches. Then I covered most of the colors using Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot distress oxide ink. I let the panel dry and then spritzed it with water and blotted off the excess. Once that dried I splattered the panel with white gouache and shimmer spray. Finally I added a few spritzes of distress oxide sprays in Black Soot, Mustard Seed, and Cracked Pistachio to give it even more dimension and texture! Then I set the panel aside to dry completely while I worked on the rest of the card.
Next I stamped the astronaut, planets, and sun from Out of this World and the stars from Upon a Star with versafine and heat-embossed them with clear embossing powder. I colored them with copic markers and die-cut them with the coordinating dies. Once they were dry I added the smiley faces to the stars, sun, and planets with intense-ified black ink. Next I die-cut part of my sentiment using Finley’s ABCs from shimmer cardstock and stamped the rest onto my galaxy panel. I used Milo’s ABCs to stamp the panel with versamark and heat-emboss it with white embossing powder. I adhered all my images around the panel and sentiment and then finished the card with some white gel pen accents and some crystal glaze on the stars and astronaut’s helmet!
And now it’s your turn! I can’t wait to see what you create!! You can link up your entries on the Lawn Fawnatics blog!
Thanks so much for visiting and have an amazing day!
