Good morning! It’s time for a new Lawn Fawnatics challenge and we have a great kick off challenge for the holiday season! I can’t wait to see what you’ll create!!
Here’s what I created:
Christmas Fishes is one of my all-time favorite sets and I thought it would be perfect as the main focus for my card! I also added a bunch of fishy friends and accessories from Mermaid For You, Fintastic Friends, and Duh-Nuh! I stamped all of them onto white cardstock with copic-friendly black ink and then colored them with copics before die-cutting them with the coordinating dies. I added a few accents with a white gel pen and then set them aside while I worked on the rest of the card.
To create my background I stamped the tree onto a panel of strathmore bristol smooth cardstock with no-line ink so that I could see where I wanted to focus my blending. Then I masked off the bottom and blended peacock feathers, mermaid lagoon, blueprint sketch, and chipped sapphire distress oxide ink around the panel keeping the lighter colors focused around the tree. Then I removed the mask and masked off the water. I blended antique linen and tea dye distress oxide ink to create my sandy ocean floor. Then I spritzed the panel with water a few times and blotted off the excess.
I stamped and heat-embossed a sentiment from Merry Messages onto black cardstock. I used foam mounting tape to add the sentiment and tree and then built the scene around them with all the cheery sea critters! To finish the card I added a little spectrum noir clear sparkle and glossy accents over the tree and santa hats!
And now it’s your turn! I can’t wait to see what you create!! You can link up your entries on the Lawn Fawnatics blog!
Thanks so much for visiting and have an amazing day!
