And, of course, I have a video for today’s card that you can watch below or at my Youtube channel!
This was such a fun card to create! I always love spending a few hours building a scene and Lawn Fawn stamps are so perfect for scene-building! First I stamped the adorable squirrels, snowman, and carrot with versafine and heat-embossed them with clear embossing powder before coloring them with copic markers. These are the colors I used:
- Squirrels – W00, W1, W2, W3, W4, W5, W6, W7, W8, R20, R22
- Snowman – C00, C0, C1, C2,
- Snowman’s Hat – N4, N6, N8, N10
- Scarves and Santa Hat – R22, R24, R27, R29, R59, G03, G05, G17, G29
- Carrot – YR16, Y38
Next I blended my background using distress inks on strathmore bristol cardstock. I used chipped sapphire, dusty concord, shaded lilac, and picked raspberry for a wintery sky. I spritzed it with water a few times and then spritzed it with white iridescent spray and white acrylic paint.
Next I die-cut the mini snowflakes and one of the simple stitched hillside dies from Lawn Fawn. Then I stamped the branch from Nutty or Nice with doe ink and partially fussy cut it so that I had a little handle to hold onto. Then I used an embossing pen to add a little embossing ink to the top of the branch. I sprinkled it with white puff embossing powder and heat-embossed it to create a puffy snow effect.
And then it was time to build my scene! I laid everything out to get an idea of where I wanted it and then started adhering the different elements with a mix of regular adhesive and foam mounting tape. I added some accents with prisma and chunky glitter, a white gel pen, and spectrum noir clear sparkle. And finally I stamped the sentiment onto black cardstock, heat-embossed it with white embossing powder, trimmed it down to a thin label, and adhered it to the card with foam mounting tape!
What a fun, cheerful card to create! Remember, this Nutty or Nice? set is only available until it sells out so don’t wait too long! 😉 Thanks so much for visiting and have an amazing day!
