Good morning and welcome to the first 2018 release for Lil’ Inker Designs! We’re introducing a bunch of fabulous love-themed stamps and dies and they’re all available right now! I love that Laura doesn’t make you wait to shop the new release so I totally understand if you want to go shop now, but make sure you come back and comment for a chance to win the entire January release! That’s correct…one lucky commenter will win everything! There’s more details on how to win at the end of my post!
My card today uses two techniques that might be a little familiar if you visited my blog this weekend…dry-embossing and colored pencils! 😉 I love the pop of texture that you get from dry-embossing and I’ve been hooked on my colored pencils recently! To start I ran the new Forever Heart Die Layer 1 through my big shot with an embossing pad on grey cardstock. Then I stamped the Love and Honey floral heart onto white cardstock and colored it with my polychromos pencils. Once I was finished coloring I restamped the heart with versafine and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder for a crisp edge before die-cutting it with the coordinating die.
Next I die-cut the ‘forever’ sentiment from the Forever Heart Die Layer 1 set three times with a dark red cardstock that matched the darker shading in my coloring. I glued them together and then set them aside to dry while I worked on the rest of the sentiment. I stamped part of the words from the older Girl’s Best Friends set with versafine and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder. I trimmed that down to a fishtail banner and adhered it behind the floral heart. Then I adhered the floral heart to the dry-embossed background and finished by adding the sentiment word!
And that’s it for day 1! I’ll be back tomorrow with more! 😉
You should have arrived from Jennifer and Karen is your next stop. If you get lost you can find the full hop list below! Leave a comment on each stop along the hop and one lucky commenter will win the entire January release! Good luck!
