Good morning and welcome to the September 2017 release for Lil’ Inker Designs! We’re introducing a bunch of gorgeous autumn stamps and dies and they’re all available right now! I love that Laura doesn’t make you wait to shop the new release so I totally understand if you want to go shop now, but make sure you come back and comment for a chance to win the entire September release! That’s correct…one lucky commenter will win everything! There’s more details on how to win at the end of my post! Today I’m sharing two cards I created for this release!
My first card uses cute critters from A Haunting We Will Go to create a fun Halloween scene! 🙂 I started by stamping the critters with copic-friendly ink, colored them with copic markers, and die-cut them with the coordinating dies. Then I smooshed blueprint sketch, chipped sapphire, wilted violet, and black soot distress ink onto my craft mat, spritzed it with shimmer spray, and pressed a piece of watercolor paper into the ink to create a spooky night sky! After it dried I spritzed it again with shimmer spray and then flicked white and silver acrylic paint over the background and set it aside.
After the background dried I created some spooky trees by stamping some of the bare stems from a few floral sets with versamark and then heat-embossed them with white embossing powder. Then I used the Deco Edge Border dies from August’s release to create the ground for my scene. I stamped the sentiment from A Haunting We Will Go onto the black cardstock with versamark and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder. I tucked my bunny into the scene and then added the bats with a combination of regular adhesive and foam mounting tape! Spooky but super cute! 😉
My second card uses some of the gorgeous foliage stamps from Thankful Thoughts in a unconventional autumn palette of lavender and green. I started by stamping the flowers and leaves using a variety of pigment inks. I let them dry for a few minutes and then die-cut them with the coordinating dies. I also die-cut the frame from dark brown cardstock and the banner from purple cardstock. I added a little bit of shading to the banner with copic markers and then stamped the sentiment from Thankful Thoughts with versamark before heat-embossing it with white embossing powder. I die-cut the Thankful Word die from light purple cardstock and covered it with a coating of spectrum noir clear sparkle.
I ran a piece of cream cardstock through my bigshot with the Woodgrain die and then arranged my wreath over the panel. I used liquid adhesive to adhere the wreath and foliage and then used foam mounting tape for the large flower. I trimmed the sides of the woodgrain panel and then adhered it to a white card base!
And that’s it for day 1! I’ll be back tomorrow with more! 😉
You should have arrived from Jennifer and Karen is your next stop. If you get lost you can find the full hop list below! Leave a comment on each stop along the hop and one lucky commenter will win the entire September release! Good luck!

I really enjoyed what you have created. The backgrounds are amazing! I was commenting on another designers blog that I do have trouble with ink blending, so I admire what you have put forth. I enjoy the critters and they are a fun elements to add to a card for this Tim of year. I am really drawn to the thankful thoughts set, I see this as being versitle and used through the year. And as usual Jessica, your coloring is perfect! I hope that I’m good like this one day!
