Good morning and welcome to the last day of the September 2017 release for Lil’ Inker Designs! We’ve introduced a bunch of gorgeous autumn stamps and dies and they’re all available right now! I love that Laura doesn’t make you wait to shop the new release so I totally understand if you want to go shop now, but make sure you come back and comment for a chance to win the entire September release! That’s correct…one lucky commenter will win everything! There’s more details on how to win at the end of my post! Today I’m sharing a pair of fun Thanksgiving cards using our Eat Pie set!
Isn’t that squirrel adorable? To start off I stamped the squirrel and a few acorns from Eat Pie onto white cardstock with pigment ink and die-cut them with the coordinating dies. I trimmed a kraft cardstock panel down to 4″ by 5.25″ and adhered it to a chocolate brown card base. Then I stamped a few acorns onto the sticky part of a post-it note and fussy cut them to create masks. Next I just stamped the acorns into a pile, masking as I went along. Once I was happy with the size of the pile I stamped the sentiment onto white cardstock and trimmed it down to a label. I adhered the squirrel, acorns, and sentiment with foam mounting tape and added a few nuvo drops to finish the card. I think my squirrel looks quite pleased with himself! 😉
My second card uses that bossy turkey! 🙂
For this card I started by die-cutting the turkey from white cardstock. Then I stamped his body and legs followed by the feathers, beak, and wattle. I have no idea how I know that the red dangly thing on a turkey is called a wattle…but there you go! If you didn’t know what it was, now you do! 😉 I die-cut the sign and then stamped it and the sentiments from Eat Pie. I ran a panel of kraft cardstock through with the Quilted Stitched Harlequin die to create my background and then adhered that to a chocolate brown card base. I used the Border Builders set to create stitched hills for my scene and then adhered my sign and turkey!
That’s it for our release!! If you’ve missed the previous days you can find them here and here!
You should have arrived from Jennifer and Karen is your next stop. If you get lost you can find the full hop list below! Leave a comment on each stop along the hop and one lucky commenter will win the entire September release! Good luck!

Great cards, as always! I just love that Eat Pie set. I have had it in my cart for a few days now, trying to decide and I think you have swung me.
A quick question, did you have any trouble with the Stitched Harlequin background die? I have seen it used on some cards, where a lot of the background is showing and the paper is pretty warped. Yours doesn’t look that way, from what I can see. I have also read on some blogs to run it through your die cut machine twice, and was wondering if that is what made the paper warp. Did you run it through just once?
Laura Pryor says
Hi Robin. This is a very detailed die with cutting lines very close together. We recommend running this through your cut machine a couple of times to get the best details, but this die definitely yields a more shadowy-effect on your paper due to the nature of its design. It’s sort of an Ikat inspired design. I hope you love it!

Jess, I’m not big squirrel fan… but you and some of your compadres are making it really difficult not to invite him to live with me… just sayin’. xx

That squirrel is a hoot! Thanks for sharing!

That squirrel IS adorable Jessica, he’s “squirreling” away acorns for winter. ( I couldn’t pass that one up! haha) Your turkey card is great as well. Love the Harlequin background with this, looks awesome. Thanks for sharing about the wattle. I probably knew that once but totally couldn’t have said what it was if asked. Kind of like Laura Bassen’s “tittle” (the dot over an ‘i’), I think I knew that way back when too but long forgot….LOL
At any rate, both of your cards are fantastic!
