Good morning and welcome to the March release for Lil’ Inker Designs! We’re introducing a bunch of absolutely fantastic spring and Easter stamps and dies and they’re all available right now! I love that Laura doesn’t make you wait to shop the new release so I totally understand if you want to go shop now, but make sure you come back and comment for a chance to win the entire March release! That’s correct…one lucky commenter will win everything! There’s more details on how to win at the end of my post! Today I’m sharing two projects using the one non-spring set in the release that is my new fave! 😉 But first here’s a quick look at the entire release!

And here are a pair of cards using the fun So Prickly Cactus dies!
I recently traveled to Phoenix for Creativation and it was my first time seeing cactus in real life and they were so interesting! I loved all the different shapes and colors (and yes I was the idiot who decided to see if they were as sharp as they looked…spoiler: they are!) and the new So Prickly die set was just calling out to me!! I kept it simple and die-cut the dies from watercolor paper and then used the wet on wet watercolor technique to watercolor them with my Daniel Smith watercolors. This was a really fun card to design and I really allowed the watercolors to just move in a very organic way…letting go of control is very difficult for this type A crafter but I love how they turned out!
After they dried I die-cut the Hello Beautiful Cover Up Die from black cardstock and only poked out some of the openings. I adhered it to a black panel and then adhered that to a white card base. I adhered the pots and cactus with a mix of regular ATG adhesive and foam mounting tape. Then I die-cut the sentiment from turquoise cardstock and adhered it the card with foam mounting tape. I finished the card by adding a layer of spectrum noir clear sparkle to the sentiment.
My second card uses the same sentiment and dies but with a very different design. I started by doing a loose wash of light blue watercolor onto a piece of watercolor paper. Then I die-cut the edge of a piece of black cardstock with the Deco Edge border die and adhered that over the blue background. Then I die-cut the same sentiment from red cardstock but this time I pressed a versamark pad to the bottom of the sentiment and heat-embossed that with gold tinsel embossing powder. I also pressed the flower lightly to my versamark pad and heat-embossed it with the same embossing powder for a little extra sparkle.
I tucked the cacti behind the black cardstock and adhered the sentiment and flower with ATG adhesive. Seriously, these dies are MUST-HAVES for your collection! I loved making my little cacti arrangements and you’ll definitely see these again soon! 😉 And, if those dies look familiar it’s because we have an older stamp set, So Prickly, that coordinates with this die set! 🙂
And that’s it for day 1! I’ll be back tomorrow with another project to share! 🙂
