Good morning! I am super excited to be participating in a secret birthday blog hop celebrating the 6th anniversary of Lil’ Inker Designs and the birthday of LID’s owner, the fabulous Laura Pryor!
The design team decided to surprise Laura with a blog hop and I really hope she enjoys it! The team is highlighting some of their favorite cards from previous releases or creating a new card for her birthday. I haven’t been on the team very long so I decided to create a new card using one of my FAVORITE Lil’ Inker Designs stamp, Inky Flowers!
I wanted my card to be bright and cheerful and just a tiny bit messy! 😉 I started by stamping the Inky Flowers all over a piece of watercolor paper with versamark and heat-embossing them with white embossing powder. Next I wet a few flowers at a time and loosely watercolored them with the Mijello Mission Gold watercolors. I let it dry for a few hours and then added a second layer of color to darken the background. Next I die-cut the Happy Birthday Border on a diagonal from black cardstock. I cut my card panel on the same angle and trimmed an 1/8 of an inch off the bottom. I slid the black cardstock between the two parts of the background panel and adhered them together before mounting them on a white cardstock base.
So that’s it for me! You can hop along with the design team by following the links below! I hope you’ll help us celebrate Laura’s birthday and the anniversary of Lil’ Inker Designs!
