Challenge #123, sponsored by Ellen Hutson, is to create a project using love sentiments or hearts (perfect for Valentine’s Day!)! One lucky winner will win a $25 gift certificate to Ellen Hutson!
I was looking through my stamps and realized that I hadn’t used the adorable Let’s Roll stamp set in awhile and thought it would make a cute Valentine’s Day card!
I started by stamping the soy sauce bottle, ebi sashimi, heart, and tray onto Neenah cardstock and colored them with copics. I added a little clear wink of stella glitter to the heart, soy sauce, and shrimp and then added a thin layer of glossy accents to those areas and set them aside to dry. I stamped the sentiment with a word from the Let’s Roll stamp set and letters from Jessie’s ABCs and die-cut it with a speech bubble from A Birdie Told Me.
Next I stamped the cherry blossoms across the kraft card base with Lawn Fawn Lobster ink and then stamps the same flowers onto a smaller piece of vellum and heat-embossed them with white embossing powder. I die-cut a frame of red cardstock and created a shaker card with flora confetti and gilding from The Ton Stamps. The vellum overlay creates a subtle shaker and resembles rice paper shoji screens which are very typical in traditional Japanese homes (and commonly found in Americanized Japanese restaurants)!
I love the sparkle and shine from the wink of stella and glossy accents! Once the glossy accents was completely dry, I die-cut the heart with another speech bubble from A Birdie Told Me and then adhered the pieces with foam mounting tape to finish the card!
Thanks so much for visiting! For more information on how to join the challenge and additional inspiration from the rest of the design team check out the Lawnscaping blog!
