Challenge #131, sponsored by Ellen Hutson, is to use at least one project element on an angle! One lucky winner will win a $25 gift certificate to Ellen Hutson!
Here’s my card:
This was a really fun card to put together! I started by using my Dr. Ph. Martin’s Radiant Watercolors to paint the background sky on a piece of watercolor paper. Then I set that aside to dry while I worked on the rest of the card elements. I die-cut the grass from green cardstock and stamped the sentiment with versamark before heat-embossing it with white embossing powder. Next I stamped the critters and kites from Yay Kites onto Neenah cardstock with copic-friendly Caviar ink from The Ton and colored them with copic markers. I also added a healthy dose of spectrum noir clear sparkle to the kites! I die-cut the clouds and sun from Spring Showers and used the Slide On Over dies to cut a path for my kite from the watercolored background. I punched a tiny hole in the center of each kite and added a silver twine “kite string”
To assemble my card I use foam mounting dots to create a slider for my kite. I didn’t want my kite to spin (only slide on the path) so I used two dots on the back of the kite. I adhered the grass, clouds, and sun to the watercolor background with a mix of foam mounting tape and regular adhesive. Then I adhered the critters and tucked the kite strings under their paws and wings! As you tilt the card the pink kite slides along the path!
