Good morning! It’s time for a new Lawnscaping Challenge and we’re challenging you to create puns! Lawn Fawn has some great punny sentiments in several of their stamp sets or you can create your own pun!
This time our fabulous friends at Lawn Fawn are sponsoring this challenge and one lucky winner will win a stamp set of your choice!! Here’s my card using one of my favorite punny stamp sets: Rooting For You!
I LOVE those veggies! I started by stamping the beets using the rock ‘n roll technique to create shading on the veggies. I cut them out with my Scan N Cut and then set them aside while I worked on the rest of the card. First I blended Tumbled Glass distress ink onto a piece of watercolor paper leaving a little white space at the top of the panel. Then I blended Walnut Stain and Vintage Photo distress inks onto more watercolor paper and flicked them with water. Once they dried I die-cut them with the Simple Stitched Hills dies. To create my sentiment I stamped part of it with versamark using Milo’s ABCs and then heat-embossed it with white embossing powder. For the first part of the sentiment I used a word from the So Smooth set with a word from Rooting For You. I used a circle die as a guide to curve the stamps on my Misti. I used the same color ink as the beets to stamp the sentiment. Then I inked it again with versamark and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder.
To assemble the card I adhered the larger hill to the background panel and then used foam mounting tape to adhere the smaller hill. I also used foam mounting tape to adhere the beets to the hill. I also die-cut a heart from white cardstock, colored it with spectrum noir clear sparkle, and then adhered it between the beets!

Now, that’s what I call a pun. And that makes this darling card as sweet as a beet.
