Challenge #141, sponsored by Ellen Hutson, is Let it Snow! One lucky winner will win a $25 gift certificate to Ellen Hutson!
Here’s what I came up with!
Unfortunately I forgot a cardinal rule when making shakers in the dry winter air…avoid glitter or it will just get stuck everywhere instead of shaking around. Oh well, there really is a blizzard in my card! 😉
I die-cut the Leafy Tree Backdrop portrait die to create my shaker frame. I backed it with acetate and filled it with a mix of white, silver, and clear sequins, white glitter, and a wintery bead mix. Next I watercolored my sky with mission gold watercolors and then added flicks of white acrylic paint. I let that dry while I worked on the rest of the background. I die-cut the hills with the Stitched Hillside borders from white glitter and silver glitter cardstock. Once the watercolored background was dry I adhered the hills and added my penguin snowman from Snow Cool!
