Good morning! Today I’m sharing a card using a little watercoloring and a little ink blending! The combination of the two can create some magical results! 😉
I’ve been participating in Kathy Racoosin’s Daily Marker Coloring Challenge this month and colored this GORGEOUS magnolia set from Avery Elle with my zig clean color real brush markers!
I wanted to let this flower shine so I kept my background simple! I stamped the beautiful Bohemian Lace background stamp onto strathmore bristol watercolor paper with versamark and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder. Then I blended hickory smoke distress ink in the center of the stamp and blended it out with spun sugar distress ink.
Then I trimmed that background panel down to an A2 panel and adhered the flower with foam mounting tape. I die-cut the sentiment five times with black cardstock and layered them together before adhering them to the card. Finally I added a few black nuvo drops to finish the card!
Thanks so much for visiting and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Absolutely stunning, Jess!! Isn’t this challenge bringing the flowers out of stash in a whole new light? Your background adds such a beautiful touch, without taking the spotlight off of your gorgeous magnolia! Well done you!

Jess, what a beautiful card! The background is stunning and the flowers are so pretty,
The magnoliais spectacular but looks even better against that lace background. Would have never thought to use the hickory smoke distress ink with pink, but it works.
