Good morning! I have a fun post to share today! I recently went to a crafty retreat with some absolutely amazing women! One of my favorite aspect of crafty get-togethers is discovering new friends and new stamp companies! My wallet doesn’t appreciate the stamp company discoveries but I certainly do! 😉 And I definitely have two new companies to add to my crafting stash! I’m sure you all are going to wonder what rock I’ve been living under but I met Jen del Muro and Tifany DeGough and I am officially a Reverse Confetti and Ink Blot Shop fan for life! Not only do both companies have fabulous products, they’re also owned by wonderful ladies! And to me, that’s just as important as the products they carry! So now I’m excited to share them with you…just in case they’re new to you, too! 😉
Of course I’ve started hoarding their stamps and thought I’d share two cards today using some of their stamps! 🙂
My first card uses stamps from Tifany’s company, Ink Blot Shop! I love her critter sets…in particular she has an adorable set of dogs, one of cats, and this Flopsy Birds set!! Isn’t that bird awkwardly awesome? Ha! I started by stamping the bird with copic-friendly ink and then colored him with copics before cutting him out with my ScanNCut. I also stamped the little heart, colored it with copics, and cut it out at the same time. Next I stamped the Houndstooth background stamp onto the bottom third of a piece of kraft cardstock with versamark and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder!
Then I stamped the word ‘love’ from Stretched Sentiments above the houndstooth with versafine and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder. I also stamped the word ‘you’ onto black cardstock and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder. I trimmed that down and adhered it over the houndstooth background. Next I added my bird and heart with a mixture of foam mounting tape and regular adhesive. Finally I added a coating of spectrum noir clear sparkle to the heart, some accents on the bird and heart with a white gel pen, and a layer of nuvo crystal glaze to the heart.
My next card uses two sets from Reverse Confetti!
I stamped the unicorn from Unicorn Wishes and the flowers and floral banners from Banner in Bloom onto white cardstock with copic-friendly ink. I used my MISTI to stamp the images and left the stamps on the lid of my MISTI so I could restamp them later for embossing. I colored everything with copic markers and then placed the cardstock back inside my MISTI. I restamped the images with versafine and then heat-embossed them with clear embossing powder for a raised edge. Then I used the coordinating dies to die-cut everything out.
Originally I intended to make a shaker card but changed my mind midway through. On a second panel of white cardstock I blended worn lipstick and faded jeans distress oxide inks to create a colorful sunset. Then I stamped over the entire panel with versamark and heat-embossed it with holographic embossing powder. At this point I decided the extra step of making it a shaker might actually be a little TOO much sparkle (I know, I know…is there even such a thing as too much sparkle? Ha!) and left it alone. I took another piece of white cardstock and die-cut a stitched circle from the top half. I adhered that over the inked background and then tucked the unicorn and floral elements around the circle. To finish the card I added a little spectrum noir clear sparkle to the unicorn and the flowers.
Two VERY different cards but I think both are very me, too! 😉 Anyway, if you’ve never checked out Reverse Confetti or the Ink Blot Shop I REALLY recommend heading over for a look! 😉 I promise you won’t regret it! I hope you have a fabulous weekend! Thanks for visiting!
