Hello! I have a quick Mother’s Day card to share today using the gorgeous roses from the Best Mom Ever set from Simon Says Stamp!
To start I stamped all the roses and leaves onto masking paper and fussy cut them. Then I arranged them on my card panel to figure out how I wanted to arrange my flowers. Once I was satisfied with the arrangment I started stamping them onto my panel, masking as I went along. This is the arrangement I ended up with:
Next I colored my arrangement with copic markers. I started with my darkest shades first and then blended out to the lighter colors. I used the following copic markers:
- Roses: RV00, RV21, RV23, RV25, RV29, R37
- Leaves: G03, G14, G16, G28
After I was happy with the color I added a layer of spectrum noir clear sparkle to the roses. I wish it photographed better because that layer of shimmer is gorgeous when the light hits it!
To finish the card I stamped the sentiment onto black cardstock with versamark and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder. I trimmed it down to an angled label and adhered it to the card with foam mounting tape. Finally I added a sprinkling of ombre red sequins!
I’m trying to get more comfortable using darker shades in my copic coloring…makes me nervous but I really like how it turned out! Maybe I’ll get brave and do a video soon! 😉 Anyway, thanks so much for visiting and have a wonderful day!
