Good morning! Well it’s been over six months since the last time I shared a video tutorial and I figured it was time to give it another try! I have a weird block in my mind that I need to only share videos for overly complicated cards so I’m trying to get more in the habit of sharing my everyday cards. So here goes!
You can watch today’s video below or in HD at my YouTube channel!
I’ve been looking at these adorable cats from Mama Elephant and finally decided how I want to use them! I started by stamping all of the cats and the mailbox onto masking paper and fussy-cutting them to create masks. I stamped the heart balloon-holding cat with copic-friendly ink and then placed a mask over it before stamping the mailbox so it would look like the cat was standing on top of the mailbox. Next I wanted to use the juggling cat but without the balls, so I inked up the stamp, wiped the ink off the balls with my stamp shammy, and then used a qtip to make sure all the ink was off before stamping the cat onto my card panel. I repeated the process for my second cat and then placed the mask over that cat before stamping the envelope-holding cat onto the paw of the second cat. It’s a card that kinda defies gravity! 😉
Next I placed the masks over all the images and blended distress ink onto the bottom of the card panel. I started with abandoned coral and then added a little spun sugar distress ink. I removed the masks and colored the scene with copic markers. Next I stamped the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp with copic-friendly intense black ink and colored it with copic markers. I added a layer of spectrum noir clear sparkle and then a few accents with a white gel pen. Finally I added a layer of glossy accents to the hearts to finish the card!
I hope you enjoyed the video! I’d love to know what kind of videos you’d like to see from me in the future! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

You have a wonderful sense for dimension and shadows, Jessica … something I am sorely lacking when it comes to Copic coloring … practicing on letters might be a good lesson for me! Thanks for a wonderful video!

Has it really been 6 months since the last video. Well, you certainly haven’t lost your touch…it’s clear that you’re a talented teacher. Your tutorial was clear, concise and informative…plus being entertaining. The card, of course, is just adorable and beautifully colored.

So glad that you’ve ventured into creating videos again; know that your investment of time in doing so is very much appreciated! Your kittens are absolutely adorable with their joint efforts in getting the letter into the mailbox! As for video topics: would love to see how you water-colour – every single detail – especially some of the beautiful C9 images (your blue/silver Hello Lovely comes to mind). Actually, anything from you would be awesome…
