Good morning!! Are you ready to dive into your holiday crafting, for real?! The October release from MFT Stamps is here and it is full of fantastic holiday products for every style and preference!! I fell hard for the adorable Stacey Yacula set and some of the big graphic designs in the release and I have two very different cards to share today! First up is this slimline card featuring Merry Wishes!
I’ll admit, this card was not a quick venture…but I enjoy the therapeutic aspect of just losing myself in some blending, masking, and coloring! However, my second card literally took me less than 10 minutes! So there’s some balance there! 😉
To start I stamped the images from Merry Wishes onto masking paper and fussy cut them. Then I stamped them onto a panel of strathmore bristol cardstock cut to 3.75″x8″ with versafine and heat-embossed them with clear embossing powder. I covered the images with the masks and added a mask for my snowy ground. Then I blended antique linen, victorian velvet, seedless preserves, and black soot distress oxide inks onto the panel to create a snowy sky in a somewhat unconventional holiday palette! While the masks were still in place I splattered the panel with water, blotted off the excess, and then splattered the panel with white gouache to create lots of snow and lots of dimension!
Then I removed the masks and colored the images with copic markers! I used the following colors for the different images:
- Bunny: E40, E70, E71, E74, E77, R0000, R00, R20, R81, R83, R85, R89
- Penguin: W00, W1, W3, W5, W6, Y32, Y35, R00, RV91, RV93, RV95, RV99
- Bird: E40, E70, E71, E74, Y32, Y35, Y38, R81, R83, R85, R89
- Trees: G20, G21, G24, G28, E71, E74, E77
- Ornaments and Box: R81, R83, R85, R89, T1, T2, T4, T5, Y32, Y35, RV91, RV95
- Snow: W00, W0, W1, W3
Next I stamped my sentiment from Bitty Holiday Wishes onto rosy pink cardstock with versamark and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder before trimming it down to a fishtail flag. I adhered it with foam mounting tape. Next I added a few accents to my card with a white gel pen and added nuvo drops to my Christmas tree for a little pop of color. Finally I finished the card with a little nuvo crystal glaze sprinkled with chunky and prisma glitter.
And then before I started dinner I really wanted to play with this giant sentiment stamp! So I kept it simple and created a card that you could easily use for mass-producing! I blended lucky clover and pine needles distress oxide ink onto the edges of a panel of dark turquoise cardstock.
I let it dry completely and then simply stamped the sentiment with versamark and heat-embossed it with gold embossing powder. The script is striking enough that it really doesn’t need anything else though you could sparkle it up a bit with sparkly embossing powder or with a few nuvo drops to add “ornaments” to the card! But, as for me, it was time to make dinner so I stuck with clean and simple but striking! 🙂
And that’s it! I highly recommend checking out the full release from MFT Stamps! You’re sure to find several great products that catch your eye! 😉 Thanks so much for stopping by and have a fantastic day!
I thought I’d do a little twist on my usual giveaways…I’d love to know your favorite items from the October 2019 MFT Stamps release! I have a stamp set from the new release to gift to the first commenter who happens to pick that stamp set! 😉 So head over and check it out and then let me know your faves!! Maybe you’ll find out that it’s on its way to you tomorrow! 🙂 International commenters are welcome! If no one happens to pick the item (I highly doubt that will happen, but just in case) I’ll choose a random commenter to receive it on Friday, October 11th, 2019 so make sure to get your comments in before then! 🙂

I love Merry Christmas set that is only the words and you stamp them in different colors to use as your sentiment. It’s the Merry Christmas alphabet set. Make sense?
