Good morning!! The February release from MFT Stamps is now available and it’s full of fabulous birthday themed products in a variety of styles!! I was lucky to receive a few items to play with this month and I’m excited to share a cheery card with you today!
I’ve been in a bit of a creative slump these past few weeks especially while recovering from the flu and I was having a rough time feeling creative. So this weekend I decided to just play around with some of my favorite mediums and see what happened. I decided to go back to basics and pulled out my distress inks! I smooshed, splattered, and watercolored a few backgrounds and really loved this one using scattered straw, dried marigold, abandoned coral, and picked raspberry. Once it dried I splattered it with water and gold paint and set it aside to dry before trimming it down and adhering it to a white card base.
While that was drying I die-cut the Perfect Fit Balloon Die-Namics from vellum and die-cut the Hip Hip sentiment from Hip Hip Hooray Die-Namics from the middle of the balloon. I adhered it to my distress panel and added a gold thread ribbon tied around the bottom. Then I die-cut the Hip Hip from gold glitter cardstock and pieced it into the vellum balloon. Next I die-cut the Hooray from black cardstock three times and adhered them together. I adhered it to the card panel and then finished the card with a handful of gold sequins for a little extra sparkle!
And that’s it! Head over to MFT Stamps to check out the full release! I’d love to know your favorites! Thanks so much for stopping by and have an amazing day!
