Good morning! Today I’m a stop on the hop for the Make It Merry YouTube Hop for Honey Bee Stamps! If you saw my blog post yesterday you saw a simple light-up card using Chibitronics. Today I decided to step things up to create a fun sliding switch circuit card with the adorable Bear Hugs set! You can watch the video below or over at my YouTube channel!

To start I blended prize ribbon and chipped sapphire distress oxide ink over the Nordic Winter stencil on a panel of lapis blue cardstock. I set that aside to dry completely while I worked on the rest of the card! I stamped the adorable bear from Bear Hugs with copic friendly ink and colored him with copic markers. Then I die-cut him with the coordinating dies and used a hole punch to cut out some of the lights.
Then I created my circuit panel on an A2 piece of white cardstock. You need to watch the video for the full effect but the idea is that you create a sliding switch circuit like the one shown above and when you slide your finger along the bottom of the card the LED stickers will light up one by one!
I used a double layer of foam mounting tape to adhere my stenciled panel over the circuit panel to complete the card! I added a few finishing touches by coloring around the bear with a B24 copic marker, adding white gel pen accents, and spectrum noir glitter and crystal glaze to the star and lights!
I wish you could see the shine and sparkle in person! It’s a time-consuming card but it’s worth it for someone special! Thanks so much for stopping by and have an amazing day!

Hi, Jess –
This is an amazing card but too complicated for me. I love the bear and maybe I could just put one light behind the big star on top of the bear’s head. Love it, though! You’re superb at awesome cards!!
