I shared this card using the My Monthly Hero kit on my blog this weekend:
And today, I’m sharing an easy vellum overlay card with the January 2022 My Monthly Hero kit!
I have a video for this card set that you can watch below or over at my YouTube channel:
IF THE VIDEO IS NOT VISIBLE PLEASE CLICK HERE TO WATCH!
I started by stamping the layering set using the same inks as my previous card: Rose Madder, Cotton Candy, and Charcoal to create a bright and vibrant weeping cherry tree! I die-cut the branches with my coordinating dies and then die-cut the coverplate die from a vellum card base.
Next I ink-blended a panel of lapis cardstock with Intense-ified Black, Navy, and Cornflower ink and added a sentiment from the kit. I adhered my branches over the blended panel and then tucked it inside the vellum. Finally I added the key that I heat-embossed with brass embossing powder for a raised shiny and smooth effect.
I also created a card using some of the new add-on products! I started by stenciling the layers of the Peonies Bunch set with Cotton Candy, Rose Madder, Raspberry Jam ink, Charcoal, and Intense-ified Black ink. Then I stamped the outline layer of the Peonies Bunch set and heat-embossed it with gold glitter embossing powder before die-cutting it with the coordinating die.
Then I die-cut the Hearts & Blossoms Coverplate die from white cardstock and layered it onto a white card base for a tone on tone look. I added the peonies with foam mounting tape and finished it with a sentiment from the Peonies Bunch set!
And that’s it for me! I just love this entire kit…it makes me feel like I’m in a fairy tale!! Head over and pick up your January My Monthly Hero kit and add-ons today before it sells out!
To celebrate the kit release Hero Arts is giving away a $50 gift card as a prize to one blog reader selected from the comments across all of the blogs in the hop so make sure you leave a comment at each hop stop for the most chances to win!
