Good afternoon! Today is release day for the December My Monthly Hero kit from Hero Arts and I’m sharing two projects using the kit and add-ons! This charming kit is now available for purchase at Hero Arts; but remember, once they’re sold out, they’re gone for good so make sure to head over and shop soon! And don’t forget that you can subscribe to the kits so that you never have to worry about missing one!
The December kit contains:
- 4″ x 6″ Clear Stamp Set
- 11 Coordinating Frame Cuts
- Fancy Cover Plate Die (4.25″ x 5.5″)
- City Cling Stamp (6″ x 6″)
- 4 Sheets of Black Cardstock (5.5″ x 8.5″)
- 3 Reactive Ink Cubes (Berry Smoothie, Fruit Punch, Lemon Drop)
- 10 Clothespins
I decided to use a rainbow of reactive inks two ways to show their versatility! My first project uses them with simple ink-blending!
First I stamped the cling stamp from the kit onto a panel of white cardstock with versafine and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then I blended taffy, fruit punch, creamsicle, lemon drop, key lime fizz, pool party, splash, and thistle onto the panel.
I added a panel of vellum to soften the design and then die-cut the kit coverplate die from black cardstock. I adhered that to the vellum and then added a sentiment. Finally I added yellow enamel dots to create the string lights to add a little pop of color and dimension to my card!
For my second card I stamped the Geometric City bold prints onto a panel of watercolor paper with embossing ink and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then I smooshed the same reactive inks onto a craft mat, spritzed them with water and shimmer spray, and dipped my panel into the inks. I repeated the smooshing a few times until I got a softly blended rainbow and then set it aside to dry completely.
While it was drying I stamped a sentiment from the City Park Heroscape set with embossing ink and heat-embossed it on black cardstock with white embossing powder. I trimmed it to a thin label and adhered it to the smooshed panel with foam tape and a tangle of black thread. I finished the card with a few enamel dots!
And that’s it for me! Head over and pick up your December My Monthly Hero kit and add-ons today before the kit sells out! And, as always, thank you so much for shopping via my links! I greatly appreciate your continued support!
