|
My first project is a book tracker page for my happy planner!
I like to keep track of the books I’ve read over the course of a year and the new Book Stacks Bold Print stamp is perfect for creating a tracker page! I simply stamped the image with versafine and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then I colored everything with copic markers in rainbow shades. I decided, for aesthetic reasons, to color it first and then add book titles as I finish them; but you could also leave the big empty book spines white and then color them as you complete and add a new book title. There are plenty of other smaller decorative book spines that could be colored initially to give your page some color!
Once I finished coloring I adhered a sentiment from the kit stamped on pitch black cardstock and heat-embossed with silver embossing powder. I trimmed down the panel to 6×6 and then adhered it to a piece of pitch black cardstock cut slightly larger. I also used my Happy Planner punch to punch the cardstock edge so that it would fit in my binder. As you can see I’m a big reader but I can always use the Book Stacks stamp to keep adding pages as needed for my planner! And yes, I’m big into thrillers and mystery books, ha!
My next project is a more conventional card combining some of the add-ons with an older set!
I loved the sentiments in the Literary Quotes set and thought that the Peter Pan quote would be perfect for pairing with Fairy Kisses! I started by blending Thistle, Soft Purple, and Soft Pink ink onto a panel of white cardstock. Once it was dry I stamped the sentiment from Literary Quotes with embossing ink and heat-embossed it with gold embossing powder. Next I die-cut the Book Window fancy die from white cardstock and placed it over my ink blended background. While they were together I stamped the stardust from Fairy Kisses onto both panels with embossing ink and heat-embossed it with gold embossing powder. Then I added acetate to the back of the window panel and created a shaker with a layer of foam mounting tape. Inside the shaker I added tiny gold stars and sparkly glitter to fit the fairy dust theme!
Then I stamped the fairy from Fairy Kisses with embossing ink and heat-embossed her with gold embossing powder. I colored her with copic markers to resemble Tinkerbell and added accents with a a white gel pen and colored pencils. I die-cut her with the coordinating die and adhered her to my card. I used foam mounting tape to pop up her wings to give her a little extra dimension. And finally I added a little sparkle lacquer to her wings!
And that’s it for me! Head over and pick up your March My Monthly Hero kit and add-ons today before it sells out!
