Good afternoon! Today is release day for the April My Monthly Hero kit from Hero Arts and I’m sharing a stenciled using this fantastic kit!! This fun and unique kit is now available for purchase at Hero Arts; but remember, once they’re sold out, they’re gone for good so make sure to head over and shop soon! And don’t forget that you can subscribe to the kits so that you never have to worry about missing one!
The April kit contains:
- 6” x 8” Clear Stamp Set
- 16 Coordinating Frame Cuts
- 3 Geometric Rotating Stencils
- 3 Ink Cubes (Tangerine, Grape Juice, Raspberry Jam)
- 1 Ink Blending Brush
This kit is valued at $83 and is an absolute steal at $34.99!
I shared this card using the My Monthly Hero kit on my blog this weekend:
And today I broke out the whole rainbow!
To start, I placed the stencil with the quarter circle design on a panel of strathmore bristol smooth cardstock and taped it in place. I used a blending brush to apply a rainbow of stencils starting with pink in the top right and purple in the bottom left. I used a mix of hybrid, dye, reactive, and pigment inks from Hero Arts to get the colors I was looking for!
After the first layer I rotated the stencil and blended a second, darker layer of rainbow colors across the panel. Then I wiped the stencil down, flipped it over and rotated it until I found a pattern that would create a slightly different design across the panel. I didn’t want it to cover all the quarter circles or mimic one of the other rotations. Once I found the rotation I liked I applied a thin layer of moonstone glimmer paste over the stencil. I peeled it up and let it dry completely.
While it was drying I stamped a sentiment from the kit onto Pitch Black cardstock with embossing ink and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder. I trimmed it down to a thin label and adhered it to the rainbow panel with foam mounting tape to finish the card!
And that’s it for me! Head over and pick up your April My Monthly Hero kit and add-ons today before it sells out!
To celebrate the kit release Hero Arts is giving away a $50 gift card as a prize to one blog reader selected from the comments across all of the blogs in the hop so make sure you leave a comment at each hop stop for the most chances to win! Please comment before 11:59PM EST on Sunday, April 11th! You should have arrived from Ilina and Libby is your next stop!
