I shared this card on the Hero Arts blog this weekend:
And today I’m sharing a card using several of the fantastic add-ons!
I also have a video for this card that you can watch below or over at my Youtube channel:
I was definitely on a bit of a brass kick and I knew I wanted to heat-emboss the pattern with brass embossing powder but it can be difficult to use colored pencils with embossed designs. So to start I used my MISTI to stamp the Underwater Pattern Bold Prints stamp onto Hero Hues cardstock in the appropriately named shade Adriatic using Navy ink. I left the stamp on the lid of my MISTI and then started coloring it with polychromos colored pencils. If you watch the video you’ll get a little glimpse of my new crafty helper! 😉
Once I was finished coloring I placed the panel back inside my MISTI and stamped it again with Embossing & Watermark ink before heat-embossing it with brass embossing powder. The nice thing about restamping and embossing the image after coloring is that it really cleans up any edges that might not be totally crisp from your coloring and gives it a fancy finished look! I decided to frame the panel with brass so I swiped my embossing ink around the edge of an A2 panel and heat-embossed that with brass embossing powder before adhering the colored panel. Next I stamped the sentiment from Need a Hand onto the same Adriatic cardstock and also heat-embossed it with brass powder. I trimmed it down to a thin label and then coiled some metallic gold thread behind it. I used foam mounting tape to adhere the sentiment and thread to my panel and finished it with some metallic gold sequins!
And that’s it! Head over and pick up your My Monthly Hero kit and add-ons today!
To celebrate the release Hero Arts is giving away a $50 gift card as a prize to one blog reader selected from the comments across all of the blogs in the hop so make sure you leave a comment at each hop stop for the most chances to win!
