I shared this slimline card using the My Monthly Hero kit on my blog this weekend:
And today, I’m sharing a card with the August 2022 My Monthly Hero kit!
I started by blending my sun using butterbar ink and one of the stencils included in the kit. Then I blended my sunset sky using grape juice, amethyst, raspberry jam, papaya, butterbar, and lemon drop ink. I trimmed that down to a 4″x5.25″ panel and adhered it to a pitch black A2 base.
Next I blended granite, charcoal, and intense-ified black ink over the stencils to create the nighttime desert scene. Then I die-cut the full desert scene with the coordinating dies. On another piece of cardstock I blended the cacti a second time and then die-cut them with the coordinating dies. I popped them up on the scene with foam mounting tape and embossed the top accent layer with brass embossing powder. Finally I added a sentiment from the kit heat-embossed with the same brass embossing powder to finish the card!
And I used one of the new add-on sets to create a vibrant and bold card!
I fell hard for the Seaside Highway Heroscape as soon as I saw it as it reminds me of Big Sur and Route 1! I blended a background using ultra pink, amethyst, and passion flower ink. Then I stamped the Heroscape using cornflower, indigo, charcoal, pine, and field green ink.
I fussy cut the heroscape scene and adhered it to my blended sky. I added a sentiment from the set and stamped a few clouds in unicorn white pigment ink to finish the card!
And that’s it for me! Head over and pick up your August My Monthly Hero kit and add-ons today before it sells out!
To celebrate the kit release Hero Arts is giving away a $50 gift card as a prize to one blog reader selected from the comments across all of the blogs in the hop so make sure you leave a comment at each hop stop for the most chances to win!
