I shared this plum and brass card using the My Monthly Hero kit on my blog this weekend:
And today, I’m sharing another plum and brass card using the September 2022 My Monthly Hero kit!
I decided to keep things simpler today and just added a little interest with some partial die-cutting! I started with a panel of 8.5″x5.5″ Plum cardstock. I marked the 4.25″ spot on the panel and then die-cut the very top of the flower arrangement slightly above the 4.25″ mark. I scored the panel at 4.25″ and folded it without folding the area I die-cut. Then I lined up the floral arrangement stamp and stamped the image onto the bottom of the panel and heat-embossed it with brass embossing powder. You could heat-emboss and then die-cut but I find that die-cutting first makes sure that you don’t smoosh down or mess up the embossing powder.
I added a sentiment from the kit heat-embossed with the same embossing powder and adhered it with foam mounting tape to finish the card. I really love the way the plum and brass look together and I have plans to use a similar card design this Thanksgiving to create place cards for the table! For those I will start with a smaller panel and die-cut more of the arrangement so that it sticks out above the cardstock. I’ll likely use the ‘so thankful’ sentiment and then add our guests names with a metallic paint pen! Just another fun way to use this kit!
And finally I’m sharing one more plum and brass card using some of the add-on sets!
I die-cut the Maple Leaf Window Die from Plum cardstock and trimmed a little off each side. Then I stamped a sentiment from Artichoke Arrangement onto an A2 panel of Plum cardstock and heat-embossed it with brass embossing powder. I adhered the cut out panel to the sentiment panel with foam mounting tape.
Then I die-cut a few leaves from the Foliage and Flowers fancy dies with glitter paper and tucked them around the window. I used liquid glue to adhere them in place and then folded up some of the maple leaves for a little extra dimension and interest!
And that’s it for me! Head over and pick up your September My Monthly Hero kit and add-ons today before it sells out!
