Good morning! The next coloring challenge from Kathy Racoosin has begun and this time my goal is not necessarily to color everyday but to make sure I actually use the images I color within the month! 😉 I have a bin filled with colored images I’ve never used…and as my skill level has improved over the last few years, I probably won’t ever get around to using some of those early colorings…*sigh*. So earlier this week I colored the gorgeous ginkgo leaves from Neat and Tangled’s Have Courage set.
And since I used two different color palettes for each one I decided to also create two different cards!
For the first card I blended a little rusty hinge, wild honey, and scattered straw distress ink onto a panel of strathmore bristol with the life changing blender brushes. I really REALLY love these brushes…they do such a fabulous job at getting soft edges!
I stamped the sentiment from Neat and Tangled’s Have Courage with versafine and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder. I just love that quote from C.S. Lewis’ “Voyage of the Dawn Treader.” The Chronicles of Narnia series was one of my favorites as a child so it was really fun to see it in a stamp set! I adhered the ginkgo leaves with foam mounting tape for a little extra dimension. Then I trimmed the panel down, adhered it a white card base, and finished the card with a few pale yellow sequins!
For my second card I blended a little Simon Says Stamp Leaf Green ink onto the right side of my panel concentrating the color towards the bottom right corner. I stamped the sentiment with versafine and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder! And another favorite movie…the new Cinderella! This set is full of GREAT sentiments!
I trimmed the panel down to adhered it to a white card base. Finally I adhered the ginkgo cluster and then added a few black gems for a little extra sparkle! And that’s it! Thanks so much for visiting today and have a fabulous day!

Thanks for bringing that stamp set back to my attention, -I hadn’t paid much attention to it when it was first released. You’ve made such beautiful cards with those lovely leaves, the colouring is gorgeous. That stamp set is definitely on my wish list now 😘
