I’m just having way too much fun in this class…finished teaching this evening and went back into my craft room for a few hours. The first card uses embossing resist and is based on a tutorial taught by Kristina Werner. I used my Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors and snowflakes from stamp sets by WPlus9 and Mama Elephant. The sentiment is from Mama Elephant. I originally had planned to use my silver stickles to make little snow dots but once I put them on the card I absolutely hated the way they looked. So while it was still wet I used my finger to smear the glitter around the blue background. It wasn’t my original plan but I like the way it turned out!
And my second card is based on a tutorial from Jennifer Rsaza and features a freehand watercolor Christmas tree. I always forget that watercolors are much lighter when they’re dry. I was happier with it when it was wet but it’s definitely something I’ll try again. I’m not sure that I’d be willing to venture from a triangular-shaped tree but who knows…
To finish the card I stamped a Mama Elephant sentiment with gold delicata ink and heat embossed it with clear powder. I added little dots with Christmas red stickles and two different shades of red liquid pearls.
I can’t wait for tomorrow’s lesson!
