Good morning! It’s a busy on the blog today and we’re kicking it off with the Pinkfresh Studio Birthday Bash blog hop! I’m so thrilled to be invited to hop along with the super talented Pinkfresh Studio design team to help them celebrate their 4th birthday! And what’s a birthday without prizes?! Pinkfresh Studio has some amazing giveaways going on and you can find all the details at the bottom of my post! I created two cards today using some of their gorgeous stamps…here’s the first:
When I saw this adorable mouse stamp from Happy Everything I thought he’d be perfect for a galaxy scene using the Word Series: Dream set! I started by stamping the mouse with copic-friendly intense ink and then I colored him with copics. I cut him out and added spectrum noir clear sparkle so he’d be sparkly! I also stamped my sentiment onto black cardstock and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder. Then it was time for my galaxy!
I blended mustard seed, chipped sapphire, wilted violet, picked raspberry, peacock feathers, blueprint sketch, and black soot distress inks onto a piece of bristol smooth cardstock and then spritzed them with water to create stars and galaxies in the distance. Then I smooshed black soot distress ink onto a craft mat, spritzed it with iridescent shimmer spray and water, and pressed the panel into the craft mat to create a little more dimension and texture. I let that dry and then sprayed the panel with shimmer spray, white spray, gold spray, and black spray. I let it dry completely and then stamped the stars with versamark and heat-embossed them with white and silver embossing powder. I also added a few dots of white gel pen to create more stars. Finally I added the tiny mouse and my sentiment with foam mounting tape. I love how he’s looking up at the sky! 🙂
My second card is a little more straightforward but for fun I used the same shades of blues, purples, and yellows from my first card. I stamped the Floral Background stamp onto watercolor paper with versafine and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder. I watercolored the flowers with my mijello mission gold watercolors and let them dry before going over them with a spectrum noir clear sparkle pen.
Once it dried completely I trimmed it down and adhered it to a black card base. I stamped the sentiment from Word Series: Believe onto black cardstock and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder. I trimmed that down to a label and adhered it to the card! And that’s it! They’re very different cards and yet they kinda work together which is neat! 🙂
