Good morning! I have a fun watercolored card to share today….it sort of reminds me of my desktop whenever I take out my paints…and I’m using an amazing new stamp set from Picket Fence Studios that I just adore!
To start I stamped the watercolor palette, brush, and sentiment from I Work For Watercolor onto arches cold press watercolor paper with versafine and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then I used my Daniel Smith watercolors to paint my scene. I used a very heavy concentration to “fill the pans” and then used more water for my palette and blends on the lid.
Next I let the panel dry completely and then wet the bottom right corner with clean water. I added a little pink, red, and blue to a piece of scrap packaging material, spritzed it water, and then smooshed it onto the paper. I removed the acetate and blotted off the excess paint with a paper towel. I repeated this process a few times until I was happy with the “organic” look of the watercolor smoosh. Ha. I let that dry and then added a few splatters of pink and blue to finish the card!
And if you’re interested in picking up some watercolor paints, remember that Ellen Hutson has a fantastic 20% sale running this week with the code lucky13! 😉
Picket Fence Studios has a brand new release available today and I highly recommend checking out all the other fun products they’ve released! Thanks so much for stopping by today and have a wonderful day!!
