Good morning! Today I’m playing with several stamp sets from Altenew including the brand new Watercolor Wonders! I decided to try using them with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens and this was the result:
There’s definitely a bit of a learning curve with this stamp set but I’m looking forward to trying it again soon! To stamp the flowers I scribbled the Zig markers directly onto the stamp, spritzed it with water, and then stamped it onto watercolor paper. For the flowers that had centers I stamped them in versamark and heat-embossed them with gold embossing powder. I stamped the butterfly’s first layer in versamark and heat-embossed it with gold pearl embossing powder. The second layer was stamped in versamark and heat-embossed with ranger gold embossing powder. The final outline was stamped in versafine onyx black ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. After I embossed the outline I realized I wasn’t a fan of the black dots on the wings so I went over it with a versamark pen and then added gold embossing powder over it to cover it.
I added splatters of dark pink and gold, stamped the sentiment in versamark before heat-embossing it with clear powder, and then adhered some Glass Slippers sequins! Finally I matted the watercolor panel on dark pink cardstock and mounted it to a black cardstock base! I love the loose watercolor look of the stamp set and when the card catches the light, it REALLY sparkles! I’ll definitely be revisiting this set soon to experiment a little more!
Thanks so much for visiting and be sure to check back tomorrow for an extra special post!! 😉
